Tuesday was a busy day for Microsoft in the courts. At the end of day, the software giant was facing two new patent infringement lawsuits.

This on top of the injunction they asked for in regards to the ruling that could stop them from selling Microsoft Word in 60 days. Last week the court ruled in favor of i4i in their lawsuit against Microsoft. The ruling would force Microsoft to stop selling Word and awarded i4i almost $300 million in damages. If the stay is not awarded, then Microsoft could continue to sell Word once they addressed the component that allows users to create custom XML documents.

While Microsoft is waiting to hear the ruling on the i4i stay, AllVoice Developments and EMG Technology both filed lawsuits against them.

AllVoice claims in their lawsuit that Microsoft’s Windows XP and Windows Vista infringes upon their patent 5799273 “automated proofreading using interface linking recognized words to their audio data while text is being changed.”

In another lawsuit filed on Tuesday against Microsoft, EMG Technology claims Microsoft Windows CE, PocketPC and Window Mobile infringes upon two of their patents. EMG alleges these products infringes on their patent rights for patent 7020845 “navigating internet content on a television using a simplified interface and a remote control” as well as on their patent 7441196 “apparatus and method of manipulating a region on a wireless device screen for viewing, zooming and scrolling internet content.” EMG is also suing Scottrade and Southwest Airlines for these same alleged infringements.
