Hornaday still holds the record for the series with five straight wins and he holds that honor with both Bobby Allison and Richard Petty for all NASCAR series. Only Petty has more with ten wins in the 1967 season.
Starting the race in the third position, Hornaday had a great first part of the race until the first caution came out. A pit mishap caused Hornaday to loose track position, but he battled through traffic to get back to third place.
Sprint Cup driver, Kyle Busch went on to win his third Camping World Truck Series race of the year. Second place in points for the series, Matt Crafton came in second just ahead of Hornaday.
Another Sprint Cup driver Ryan Newman, who’s night did not start off on a good note in the earlier Whelen Modified Tour UNOH Perfect Storm 150 race, started on the pole for the truck race. He too lost track position during the caution that Hornaday lost his track position, but battled back to finish fourth behind his teammate, Hornaday.
By finishing ahead of Hornaday, Crafton gained points in the points chase. Though Hornaday still holds the points lead in the Truck series by 211 with ten races remaining.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Chicago for their next race next Friday night the 28th. Hornaday is going into the Windy City looking to start another winning streak and to continue towards his fourth Truck Series Championship.
