US Open Tennis 2009 Results for Day Twelve

The official US Open 2009 tennis results for day 12 reads: rain 1 tennis 0. The rain that stopped the play of Rafael Nadal and Fernando Gonzalez on Thursday night continued through out Friday. This caused a change in the schedule for the rest of the tournament.

Nadal and Gonzalez was supposed to complete their quarterfinal match on Friday. Nadal leads the match 7-6(4), 6-6(3). They will now try to finish their match on Saturday.

The men's doubles final will also now be played on Saturday, weather permitting of course. Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes, the number 4 seed team, is fresh off their upset of the number 1 seed Bryan brothers in the semifinals. They will play Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles the number 3 seed team.

Also scheduled for Saturday now is the women's single semifinals. The first match will be between Yanina Wickmayer and Caroline Wozniacki. Wozniacki is the number 9 seed and defeated Melanie Oudin. Oudin was the Cinderella story of the 2009 US Open.

In the second women's semfinals match is Kim Clijster and Serena Williams. The rain may have been a benefit to Williams. She and her sister Venus played a long hard match on Thursday in the women's doubles semifinals.

The win advances the Williams sisters to the women's doubles finals that will be played on Monday. They will play the winner of the other women's doubles semifinals to be played on Saturday between the number 1 seed Cara Black and Liezel Huber against the number 3 seed team of Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs.

With the rain on Friday, the schedule for the remaining matches to determine the final US Open tennis 2009 results have the men's semifinals and the women's finals on Sunday. On Monday the women's doubles finals.
