Tavi started her blog, Style Rookie, two years ago. The blog has Tavi's analysis of fashion designs and images of her in unusual outfits.
Tavi sees fashion as more than just clothing. She sees it as a form of art and a form of self-expression.
Others in the fashion world must agree with what Tavi is writing in her blog. Tavi had only been blogging for eight months when Kate and Laura Mulleavy contacted her. She has since become their muse and has reported on their collections.
Tavi has also been courted by the fashion elite since starting her blog. She has been invited to fashion shows where she has received front row seats. Recently she has been on the cover of fashion magazines such as Pop and Love. Tavi has even started writing a blog for the Pop magazine website.
Instead of hanging out in her school’s hallways in Chicago, Tavi spent a week at the New York Fashion week hanging with the fashion elite. Not bad for a 13 year old who sees herself as "tiny 13 year old dork that sits inside all day." While her peers at her school may not understand her style or read her blog, it is obvious that the fashion elite are reading Tavi Gevinson blog.
