Seahawk Going With Green Jerseys In Lost To The Bears

The Seattle Seahawks took the field to play the Chicago Bears today. When they stepped out onto the Qwest Field they were wearing their new green jerseys for the first time.

For the first time the Seahawks will use the third alternative jersey that the NFL allows teams to use. With these lime green jerseys, the Seahawks are definitely making a fashion statement.

The new lime green jersey with dark blue sleeves and pants are a complete change from the Seahawks traditional blue and white uniforms. But the Seahawks has been using green in their logo and on there uniforms since 2002; just not this much of green before.

Maybe the Seahawks are hoping that the new lime green jerseys will distract their opponents during their games. This may have been the case in the debut of the green jerseys against the Bears today. The Seahawks jumped out to a 13-7 halftime lead.

Both Chicago and Seattle entered the game banged up. Each team has a number of players out due to injuries. Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will have to wait till another game to play in the new green jersey. Hasselbeck is one of seven Seahawks starters missing the game due to injuries.

The Bears must have gotten accustomed to the new Seahawk lime green jerseys. They took the lead going into the fourth quarter 17-13. The Seahawks quickly added a field goal as the fourth quarter started to tighten the score to 17-16.

The Bears and Seahawks would battle back and forth trading the lead in the fourth quarter. The Bears took a 25-19 lead with less than two minutes left in the game.

Seahawks drove back down the field, but came up short. The Bears took over on possessions and ran out the clock. It was the Seahawks first lost in the new lime green jerseys, taking their record to 1-2 for the season. The Bears go to 2-1 or the season with the win.
