Winston, Oregon's Wildlife Safari has opened the elephant car wash for the zoo's visitors. While they do not guarantee a clean car afterwards, there is guaranteed fun and giggles. You can see one family's experience during the elephant car wash here.
The 600 acre Wildlife Safari got the idea from an African safari. The elephant car wash has brought in much needed revenue for the drive-through zoo that has over 600 types of animals for visitors to see.
The elephant car wash costs $20 a car and one of several new attractions this year. The car was and the new attractions have helped increase the sales at the zoo by 28% over last year.
Washing cars for the elephants is like a game. They love playing with water and the washing part is similar to the painting they already do.
Now visitors to the Wildlife Safari can purchase a painted art piece by the elephants and then go through the elephant car wash all in one trip. Their cars may not get clean, but they will sure have fun going through the unusual car wash.
