We have all seen people with cellulite, some of us have it. You know the cottage cheese looking stuff under the skin usually around the hips, buttocks and thighs. According to Colleen Rush from the Total Beauty website, there are some cities that have more cellulite than others. Do you live in one of these cellulite cities?

Southern cities make up the majority of the list of cities with the most cellulite. This might be due to the high fat diets that southerners are known for. Southerners do love their fried food and gravy.

While the exact cause of cellulite is not known, it is expected that a diet in high fats do play a factor. Other factors include smoking, drinking, heredity, body fat, female hormones, being overweight, and even your skin thickness are thought to be factors in if you develop cellulite.

Women are more likely to develop cellulite then men. This is thought to be due to how the fat, muscle and connective tissues are distributed through out a woman's body.

All of the cities listed as having the most cellulite for the most part have issues with poor lifestyles, such as smoking, lack of exercise and overweight issues. Memphis, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama both have over 70% of their residents being overweight or obese.

Along with Memphis and Birmingham other cities on the list are: Wichita Falls, Texas, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mobile, Alabama, Hagerstown, Maryland, Jacksonville, Florida, Huntington, West Virginia, Montgomery, Alabama and Charleston West Virginia.

Regardless if you live in one of these cities that are have the most cellulite or not, there are some things you can do to help prevent cellulite from forming. Eat a healthy diet low in fat, exercise regularly, do not smoke and do not drink alcohol heavily are all ways to reduce your risks of cellulite.
