Carolina Forest High School Shooting Results In Student's Death

Early Friday morning a student at Carolina Forest High School in Myrtle Beach, SC was fatally shoot to death by the school's resource officer. From apparent reports the officer shot the student after he was attacked by the student.

According to early reports, the 16 year old student asked to speak with the resource officer. The student and the officer then got into a fight.

The student used a knife he had on him and allegedly stabbed the officer. The officer then shot the student.

The student and the officer were taken to the local hospital where the student later died shortly before 11am. The officer is listed in good condition and is being treated for his injuries.

An investigation is on-going to determine why this happened. The school remains under lockdown even though the situation is under control. Parents of students at Carolina Forest may go to the school and pick up their children.
