New York Jet's won their game against the Oakland Raiders in week seven, but they lost one of their key players. Leon Washington injury ends his season and possibly his career with the Jets.

Washington injury came in the first half off his only career of the game. On the carry, Washington's right leg was caught under a Raiders tackler.

Washington had to be assisted off the field. He was then taken to an Oakland area hospital.

Washington had broken his right fibula. The fibula is the smaller of the two bones between your knee and your ankle.

On Sunday afternoon, Washington underwent surgery for his injury at the Oakland hospital. He will miss the reminder of the season.

Depending on the details of his injury, he should be able to return back to play in 2010. Washington's contract is up at the end of this season. He has not signed a new contract with the Jets yet.

Washington's injury occurred on a six yard run against the Raiders. It may have been his last in a Jets uniform.
