Last Saturday, Griese made a remark about Montoya being "Out eating a taco" during the Minnesota vs Ohio State game. You can read more of the story here.
This all started with a promo ESPN was doing for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase at Martinsville on Sunday. Montoya drives for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and had dropped to sixth in points the week before.
The promo only featured the top five in the Chase points, so that is why Montoya was not in the promo. Montoya finished a strong third at Martinsville on Sunday and is now fifth in the points.
After the Martinsville race, Montoya blew off Griese and his taco comment. Montoya claims he has never even heard of Griese.
Bob Griese suspended will allow him time to watch the NASCAR races at Talladega this weekend. Montoya, well he will just keep focused on the checker flag.
