
There is a product recall for Maclaren strollers due to a safety issue with the hinges. The Maclaren stroller recall involves 1 million umbrella strollers sold in the US.
The British stroller maker, Maclaren and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are expected to release the official Maclaren stroller recall on Tuesday, November 10th. News of the recall is already spreading through the news channels and on the internet.
Maclaren has received 12 reports where children's fingertips have been amputated by the hinges on the strollers. Maclaren is voluntarily recalling all of their umbrella strollers and are making a repair kit available.
The Maclaren stroller recall are for strollers sold in the US from 1999 through 2009. They include models Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
As part of the Maclaren stroller recall, Maclaren and the CPSC is recommending that owners of these strollers stop using the stroller until they receive and install the hinge cover. Owners of the recalled strollers can order a repair kit free of charge from Maclaren.
