Google Veterans Day Logo A Salute To Veterans

After a week of designing different doodles for the Sesame Street 40th Anniversary celebration, Google is now honoring the veterans of the US Military. The Google Veterans Day logo shows a soldier being saluted by a young child.

The Google Veterans Day doodle is done in a Norman Rockwell style. Google calls it's logo a doodle.

This is the third year that Google has honored veterans with a special Google Veterans Day doodle. Google used World War II style hats sitting on the Os and E for the first year in 2007.

The 2008 Google Veterans Day doodle caused a bit of a problem for Google. As with the 2007 doodle, Google again used hats on the letters.

In 2008 though, Google used different military hats to represent each of the military services. The problem was Google had inadvertently left off the Coast Guard hat in their Google Veterans Day doodle.

After it was brought to their attention, Google apologized and quickly corrected the doodle. The new Google Veterans Day logo had a Coast Guard hat on the L.
