Going into the 2009 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, Bob and Mike Bryan had a just a chance to win the ATP World Tour crown. A chance is all the Bryan brothers needed to win both the tournament and the tour title.

The twin brothers from the US lost both the ATP Word Tour tourney and tour crown last year to the team Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic in the final match. The Bryan brothers were ranked number two behind Nestor and Zimonjic going into this year's tourney.

During their first round robin match against number seven seed team of Max Mirnyi and Andy Ram, it did not appear as if the Bryan brothers had any chance at this year's ATP World Tour title. They lost the Mirnyi and Ram to start this year's tournament off.

Nestor and Zimonjic failed to make it out of their round robin stage and gave hope back to the Bryan brothers. The Bryan brothers took that chance and ran with it.

The lost to Mirnyi and Ram would end up being their only loss for the week. They would sail through to meet up no other than the team of Mirnyi and Ram to play for the 2009 ATP World Tour Finals title.

Entering into the final match, the Bryan brothers had the chance to avenge their loss to Mirnyi and Ram earlier in the week, win the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and reclaim the number one ranking in the world. The win would give them another ATP World Tour Championship.

The first set saw incredible play by both teams. Mirnyi and Ram had more aces and actual won more points than the Bryan brothers.

The Bryan brothers controlled the tempo of the match though. In the set tiebreaker, the Bryan brothers came out ahead. The brothers celebrated with their classic jump in the air chest bump.

The Bryan brothers continued to control the tempo of the match during the second set. They broke serve to take a 5-3 lead in the set.

A short time later, the Bryan brothers went down to their knees and then jumped into each others arms in celebration. The Bryan brothers defeated Mirnyi and Ram in straight sets 7-6, 6-3.

The victory at the 2009 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals is the Bryan brothers' third time winning the year end tournament. It also gave them their seventh tour-level title of the year.

It was also their 56th tournament title of their career. The Bryan brothers finished the 2009 year with a 68-18 match record.
