Thanks to an announcement at the CES 2010, we can all soon be doing the Polaroid Shake again. Polaroid is bringing back the instant film camera that made them a household name with a modern version called the PIC 1000.
Yes, in this digital age there is a demand for new film cameras; especially when they are as much fun as a Polaroid Instant Film camera. Fuji has introduced a new instant film camera called the Instax Mini 7s.
The Polaroid PIC 1000 is based off the traditional OneStep cameras. It will use the Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film that still has the classic white Polaroid border in packs of 10 pictures; which by the way can be used in your original OneStep that is setting on the shelf.
The fun of the Polaroid PIC 1000 is that you can take an image with it and in a minute you have a picture; no computers or photo lab needed. This makes it easy to share pictures when you travel or at a gathering of friends or family.
The new Polaroid PIC 1000 and the 600 Instant Film is targeted mostly to artist and old Polaroid die-hards, but can be fun for anyone. While Polaroid has not released any pricing information on the new film camera or the film; they will admit that the cost per photo will be a bit expensive.
The Polaroid PIC 1000 Instant Film Camera will be available in a variety of colors to select from. The new camera is to be available some time in 2010.
