Polaroid 3x4 Instant Digital Camera - Digital On The Go

Along with their announcement of the new PIC 1000 Instant Film Camera at CES 2010, Polaroid also announced a new instant digital camera. The Polaroid 3x4 Instant Digitial Camera uses the ZINK printing technology to allow a digital camera to print images instantly without a computer.

For decades Polaroid pioneered instant film camera technology so that we could have a print of the image we just took in a minute. As the digital age came in, this technology faded to the point that Polaroid stopped making instant film cameras and instant film and was on the verge of going bankrupt.

Now Polaroid is announcing a new instant film camera in the PIC 1000 and taking the love of the instant print to the digital age with the new Polaroid 3x4 Instant Digital Camera. The 3x4 is an improvement on the POGO camera that Polaroid introduced in 2009. The POGO only printed 2x3 prints.

The new Polaroid 3x4 Instant Digital Camera uses the ZINK technology to print 3x4 inch prints. ZINK is Polaroid's ink-free digital photo printing system.

The Polaroid 3x4 Instant Digital Camera has a 12 megapixel sensor and a rechargeable battery. The new camera also features a large LCD screen and the ability to view and crop the images in the camera before printing them.

Borders can be selected and added to the images before they are printed as well. A variety of borders are available including the classic Polaroid white border to borderless.

Polaroid has not released a price for the new Polaroid 3x4 Instant Digital Camera, but they have said it will cost 50 cents for each print. The new digital camera is expected to be available some time in the second half of 2010.
