Kyrgyz lawmakers today decided to postpone until January 25 a vote on a draft resolution that calls upon President Bakiev to give up plans to reappoint outgoing Prime Minister Feliks Kulov, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reported.
The legislature's constitutional committee on January 22 ruled that Bakiev has no right to nominate the same candidate twice in a row.
Bakiev's advisers say he has the right to nominate the same candidate three times.
Parliament rejected Kulov's candidacy last week (January 18). Kulov's and his cabinet tendered their resignation on December 19.
