The Xbox Elite price will be cut by $100 and Xbox 360 Pro will have its price dropped by $50. At least this is the rumor that was stirred by a Target ad that was leaked Tuesday morning.

Target has yet to confirm whether this ad is accurate but if it is Target is expected to drop the price at the end of the month.
Consumers have been speculating for weeks that the Xbox pricing would drop in an attempt to compete against Sony’s Play station 3, according to Jennifer Bosavage of ChannelWeb.

The Target ad has inconsistencies throughout it causing some confusion about whether or not the ad is legitimate. The Xbox price drop shown in the ad is missing the dollar sign though the rest of the ad has it included. Also the Xbox photo is at such a low resolution that it has caused speculation that the Target ad is a fake, Bosavage explains.

The Target ad also claims that with the purchase of the Xbox consumers will receive a free controller.

Along with the Xbox price drop rumors, analyst believe that Microsoft will come out with a new slimmer version of the Xbox 360 by the end of the year in order to keep up with Sony.
