Probably the funniest musical that has ever been written, the smash hit new Mel Brooks musical, The Producers starring Joe Pasquale as Leo Bloom comes to The Mayflower direct from the West End next year (25 September - 13 October 2007).

This hilarious stage musical tells the story of down-on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock and his hapless accountant, Leo Bloom. Together they hatch the ultimate theatrical scam: to raise more money than they need to produce a sure-fire Broadway disaster...and then to pocket the left-over cash when the show flops. The Producers has a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks. It is directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman. Scenic design is by Robin Wagner, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski, sound by Steve C. Kennedy and orchestration by Doug Besterman.
