This spring at the Exploratorium, children can explore the ways that seeing may or may not be believing at a day of science classes. Families must be Exploratorium members to participate on March 3, 2007 (For Members Only). The class schedule is as follows:
Ages 3-4, with Adult Companion at 2pm-3pm
It's Kaleidoscopic: Explore reflections, patterns, and colors, and make a kaleidoscope to take home.
Ages 5-6 at 2pm-4pm
Seeing Tricks: Have fun with science by learning some visual tricks. Then, make a periscope to take home.
Ages 7-9 at 2pm-4pm
Image Making: Light, colors, pigments -- there's a lot to explore about making images. Play with some of these phenomena, including chromatography and pinhole cameras.
Ages 10-12 at 2pm-4pm
Magic Tricks and Optical Illusions: When seeing isn't believing, what is happening that tricks our brains? Learn simple magic tricks and optical illusions.
