The popular 'Friends of Thomas 2007' event continues at The Workshops Rail Museum at North Ipswich until 28 January 2007, delighting visitors of all ages. Thomas the Tank Engine and 'Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Controller' visit their Australian friends every summer at The Workshops Rail Museum during the annual signature event.

Director of The Workshops Rail Museum, Mr Andrew Moritz said: "The Friends of Thomas Play Pit has been a welcomed addition to the event, with a puppet theatre, Thomas the Tank Engine play tables and shadow puppetry, providing interactive family fun in air-conditioned comfort."

'Friends of Thomas 2007' features 'meet and greet' and story sessions with Thomas the Tank Engine and The Fat Controller, as well as his Australian friends based at The Workshops Rail Museum.

"The Behind the Scenes Tours of the Working Workshops have been extremely popular this time around with the Friends of Thomas event.

"On the tours, visitors step into the real Working Workshops and have an opportunity to see all of Thomas the Tank Engine's Australian Friends who are not in the Museum. They include Harry the Happy Engine and Gabby the Gabba Express."

Additional activities include the popular 'Where's Thomas' Model Railway Adventure at the Museum's huge model railway, with the 'Thomas and Friends' Video Theatrette continuing to entertain visitors for 2007 event.

"The Annual Pass Membership program has continued to grow during the Friends of Thomas 2007 event as it represents exceptional value for people looking for quality family-friendly events throughout the year, being equivalent to only two visits," Mr Moritz said.

The Workshops Rail Museum is a campus of the Queensland Museum and is located at North Street, North Ipswich. --
