
Catwalk extravaganza at Science Museum's Centre to show off best green fashion designs - The Science Museum's Dana Centre will play host to a catwalk fashion show which will highlight the best recycled fashions.
Refashioned: From Waste to Wear - a free event on Tuesday 15 February supported by SITA Trust and Defra - will throw the spotlight on five of the most stylish designers in the eco-fashion business. They will parade their clothes in a catwalk spectacular at the Dana Centre"š the Science Museum's adult-only café and bar for contemporary science events. Each designer will also host workshops throughout the evening"š which will lift the lid on how to turn reused and recycled materials into modern"š cutting edge designer clothes and accessories.

Our catwalk show will highlight some truly beautiful and elegant designs which we hope will inspire a new generation of eco-friendly fashion designers."Â
Parading their wares at Refashioned: From Waste to Wear will be:
From Somewhere - This design label uses high quality off-cuts"Å¡ end of roll and damaged fabrics from the textile industry to produce exquisite"Å¡ vintage-style ladies' fashions. From Somewhere will also run a workshop on using reclaimed materials from the fashion industry"Å¡ with sample fabrics and offcuts to show how it is done.
Again NYC - The brainchild of Allison Teich"Å¡ Again NYC turns junk into funk. Her wonderful bags come from rescued and repurposed materials and her designs will be seen at London Fashion Week.
Rebecca Earley - A green fashion designer for over a decade"Å¡ Rebecca also curates fashion shows and runs a Textile Environment Design group at the Chelsea College of Art and Design. Her Top 100 shirts will be paraded on the Dana catwalk and she will run a workshop looking at how to 'up-cycle' recycled materials by using innovative new technologies.
Worn Again - producers of stylish footwear and accessories made out of used clothes"Å¡ coffee bags and scrap leather. Worn Again will be running a workshop focusing on all the different types of materials they use"Å¡ how they go about getting these"Å¡ and the challenges of producing a shoe that is 99% recycled.
TRAID Remade - The spin-off fashion label from TRAID"Å¡ textile recycling charity. They will have items on the catwalk and will also be hosting a clothes swap stand - where people can swap their unwanted garments"Å¡ with all the left-overs going to be recycled. -- www.sciencemuseum.org.uk
