Films That Support Our Troops Launches

Miller is the author of the novel “Mrs. Lieutenant,” the co-host of the BlogTalkRadio show YourMilitaryLife.com, and blogs on military-related subjects at MrsLieutenant.blogspot.com. She recently wrote the huliq.com article “Public Opinion Responds to the War in Afghanistan.”

Miller was motivated to start this LinkedIn group because of the number of compelling military-related documentaries and films she has screened as part of her co-host BlogTalkRadio show position.

“Many of these films do not receive the wide distribution they deserve,” she said. “And so many of these films still need more funding in order to be completed.”

During a first meeting with filmmaker Anita Sugimura Holsapple, who is working on the documentary “Mental Valor,” Miller realized how helpful a central communication site could be for all the people working on these films.

Miller decided to start a LinkedIn group and connect it to her existing site InSupportOfOurTroops.com, a website started a few months ago for a different purpose. Miller has revised the site to support this new project and is offering each film project a page on the site.

One goal of the project is to seek out corporate sponsors to provide funding for the films that are not yet completed. “I want to encourage corporate sponsors to step up to the plate to help bring these compelling military stories to the American public.”
