Juan Del Potro, 20, played an unbelievable game pushing Federer into a fifth set, which was a first for Federer in a US Open final. Del Potro showed off his youth with a massive amount of energy against what looked to be a tired Federer.
Born September 23, 1988, Potro is an Argentine professional tennis player who is the highest-ranked Argentine and the 6th-ranked player in the world. Del Potro achieved a top 10 ranking by the Association of Tennis Professionals for the first time on October 6, 2008. In April 2009, he reached a career-high ranking of World No. 5.
Federer wasn't keeping quiet about his stress when the game got tight against Juan Del Potro. He kept the game interesting when things started to heat up. With a score of 4-4, he began talking back to the umpire. Overheard by anyone paying attention to this tense game was Federer grumbling, "I don't give a shit...Don't tell me to be quiet, when I want to talk I'll talk."

Both the men’s and women’s US Open singles champions will earn a record $1.6 million with the ability to earn an additional $1 million in bonus prize money (for a total $2.6 million potential payout) based on their performances in the Olympus US Open Series.
