Roger Federer lost the US Open in a dramatic five set game against underdog Juan Martin Del Potro. The final score 3-6, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 was an incredible loss for Federer who was the favored winner in the US Open.

The US Open men's final was a historical game as Federer was hoping for a record sixth straight championship, and his third Grand Slam of the year. A riveting championship game to watch, fans watched nervously for over four hours.

Born August 8, 1981, Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player. As of September 2009, he is ranked World number 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals, having previously held the number one position for a record 237 consecutive weeks. Many sports analysts, tennis critics, and former and current players consider Federer to be the greatest tennis player of all time.

Roger came on strong but then his game started falling apart when he started cursing at a US Open official. With a score of 4-4, he began talking back to the umpire. Overheard by anyone in earshot of the game was Federer yelling, "Don't tell me to be quiet, when I want to talk I'll talk."

The game continued and no points were taken away from Federer. Apparently his cursing wasn't as bad as Serena Williams who was fined $10,000 for swearing, costing her the game.

Twitter was busy with comments about the possibility of Federer losing the US Open.

Great Men's Singles finals with Del Potro outlasting Roger Federer in un-Federer like style in the 5th set. Nice way to win your 1st Slam!!

"Roger Federer is stressing me out! I'm yelling at him through the TV."

"Booooooo. Federer is STILL number one."

At the presentation at the runner-up awards, Feder was seen crying. A stressful match but a great game.
