Students Rush to USI WebReg

College students are trying to register on the University of California Irvine WebReg system with no luck. Today, a notice up on the site indicates, "WebReg is currently at maximum capacity; please try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience." Registering classes via the UCI WebReb system has been frustrating for students who need to register for classes.

Today at noon the fall 2009 2nd Open Enrollment period began for classes at UCI that start on September 24. However, many students were immediately locked out when the UCI WebReg system was overloaded with online registrations.

The UCI WebReg site also noted that "WebReg is available from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily, with occasional downtime for maintenance" but the long term outage seemed to go on longer than usual. This indicated that it was down for more than maintenance.

Once logged into the UCI WebReg site, students can accomplish a variety of tasks, including:

*add or drop classes
*use the wait list option
*view co-classes
*change the grade option or variable units on applicable classes
*be notified of any academic holds on your record
*verify your registration fee status

With little time left to register for Fall classes, students are hopeful that the down-time on the UCI WebReg is kept to a minimum. If you are trying to register for classes and are locked out, come back to the site in an hour as it may be a very high traffic time.
