McNabb Listed as Doubtful for Sunday NFL Game

Philadelphia Eagle's quarterback Donovan McNabb is likely not to play in Sunday's home opener against the New Orleans Saints. The Eagles head coach Andy Reid made this announcement today amidst speculation that McNabb's cracked rib injury might hold him back from playing in the NFL game on Sunday.

McNabb skipped practice during the week after suffering a cracked rib against Carolina last weekend. Coach Reid said Donovan McNabb's condition was getting better but it looks like third-year pro Kevin Kolb could make his first NFL start Sunday while McNabb continues to recover.

McNabb cracked a single rib when he was crunched by several defenders on his 3-yard touchdown run in the third quarter of last week's win at Carolina. He didn't immediately get up after the touchdown, and was attended to by Eagles trainers before eventually leaving the field on his own.

On the Philadelphia Eagle's site, coach Andy Reid had this to say about McNabb and the strong possibility of him sitting out the game this Sunday:

"Donovan we have listed as doubtful. He felt a little bit better today and we'll just keep rehabbing with him and we'll see how it goes the next couple of days."

Kevin Kolb is standing by for the game against the New Orlean's Saints on NFL Sunday Football this weekend just in case McNabb is not ready to play on Sunday. The game starts at 1pm EST on FOX.
