Mackenzie Phillips to Reveal Family Secret on Oprah

Wednesday's Oprah show is likely to be a popular show according to the buzz in the news. Mackenzie Phillips, the 49-year-old former child star, best known as Julie on the sitcom "One Day at a Time" has a big family secret to reveal that she's been hiding for 31 years.

Mackenzie reportedly tells Oprah how she "hid in her home, made compulsive purchases and struggled with personal issues" and talks about her her 2008 heroin and cocaine arrest.

The interview is scheduled to air Wednesday on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Phillips' book, "High on Arrival," comes out the same day. The book is a memoir of her life.

In the promo for the episode, below, Mackenzie says, "My father shot me up for the first time," referring to The Mamas & the Papas founder, John Phillips, injecting her with cocaine.

The promo for Wednesday's Oprah show is being played on video across the Internet today. Phillips' says, "I remember going into my room, I was crouched on the floor...He put the needle in my arm and put the plunger in and he missed," she says. "He missed the vein and my whole arm went numb.

Mackenzie Phillips will reveal her family secret at 4pm EST, Wednesday September 22 on The Oprah Winfrey show. The Oprah Winfrey Show, the #1-rated talk series, airs on CBS.
