United's Airlines Mileage Plus frequent flyers may now use their miles to book more parts of their trip. Starting today, all Mileage Plus members may use their miles for hotel stays worldwide and car rentals in the United States and Canada. This is a nice perk, especially after United Airlines recently reported it was joining several major airlines in imposing a $10 surcharge for holiday air travel.

United Airlines Mileage Plus members will find a more simplified booking process and will be able to use their miles today for any available hotel stay or car rental at the United Airlines website. Some hotels may be available during the holiday season a little less than 21,000 miles.

"Particularly in these economic times, our members say that they want more ways to use their miles and we are responding with our new hotel and car awards," said Robert Sahadevan, vice president - Mileage Plus. "Using miles for more parts of a trip is another way Mileage Plus is the most rewarding loyalty program."

United Airlines (Nasdaq: UAUA) operates approximately 3,300** flights a day on United and United Express to more than 200 U.S. domestic and international destinations from its hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
