There are constant upgrades being made to the Garmin GPS line. The 850 isn't a basic, bottom of the barrel GPS, so the deal on Amazon is a great one. It has all the features someone needs unless you have to have every single option, that you will likely never use.
The Garmin Nuvi 850 comes ready to go and is preloaded with City Navigator NT street maps and millions of points of interest such as hotels, restaurants, fuel stations, ATMs and more. Speak a menu option or touch the color screen to enter a destination, and Nuvi takes you there with 2-D or 3-D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions.
This GPS has the much desired slim design so it fits in your pocket. Teh Garmin Nuvi 850 has text-to-speech for spoken directions with real street names, MP3 player, and photo viewer. Amazon reviews show that users are very satisfied with the Nuvi 850, with the average rating at four out of five stars.
Bells and whistles? Yes. Aside from getting you where you need to go, the Garmin Nuvi 850 has a load of features that are more fun than function. Aside from the MP3 player, it has an audio book player, JPEG picture viewer, currency converters, Garmin Games, and alarm clock. With the included wireless FM transmitter, you can hear audio, including voice prompts, MP3s and audio books, through your vehicle's stereo. It's also compatible with optional FM traffic alerts or optional MSN Direct content. The 850 features Garmin Lock, an anti-theft feature.
For the most recent selling price of $200, this is a great deal. If you are quick and take advantage of the Amazon price today (at last check there were only 6 left), you'll have a full-featured GPS at your fingertips for only $165. The Gamin Nuvi 850 might not have every single feature that it's more expensive GPS family has, but is there something else you need aside from the wealth of Nuvi 850 features already offered? Probably not.
