Miley Cyrus cancelled her Twitter account this week. Apparently her new love interest, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, has something to do with it. Apparently he doesn't have a Twitter account so now she doesn't want one either. Celebrities like Miley Cyrus tend to appeal to only a certain crowd, so there can't be that many who are upset that Cyrus stopped using Twitter.
This could be a move to get a buzz going about Miley Cyrus. Currently is the star of Disney's Hannah Montana, its been rumored that she would like to move on from Disney and get involved with other ventures. She's been a bit controversial with her recent Teen Choice Awards dancing and her tweets about her former boyfriend.
Miley Cyrus, 16, explained her reason for leaving Twitter in a new video, where she sings about her reasons to leave Twitter:
"Yeah the rumours are true, I deleted my Twitter," she raps in the video, in front of several teenage girls dancing in unison. "Can you believe it?"
To a loud beat, she rhymes that it wasn't her friends who told her to delete her account.
"The reasons are simple," Cyrus continues in the video. "I want my private life private -- I'm done tryin' to please."
Her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, is encouraging her to come back to Twitter where she had over 1 million followers. Perhaps he fears that Miley will lose popularity if she's not in the Twitter limelight. That might mean less of a cut for Billy Ray, who has a vested interest in his daughter's career. This is the same Billy Ray Cyrus who thought it was perfectly fine for his daughter to dance around a pole at the Teen Choice Awards. He's very proud of her.
Time will tell if Miley Cyrus comes back to Twitter. Chances are with her father pleading on Twitter,"can't leave everyone now ... we r countin on u", Miley will be back. That will create some commotion in the media and more attention will be put on this young pop star.
