Michael Jackson song, This Is It, debuts online

The album's first disc features some of Michael Jackson's biggest hits, arranged in sequence as they appear in the This Is It movie. The disc ends with This Is It which includes backup vocals by The Jacksons. The cover of the single contains a new photo of Jackson taken recently at his Staples Center rehearsals.

Michael Jackson, born August 29, 1958, was known as the "King of Pop" and was one of the most commercially successful and influential entertainers of all time. His passing on June 25, 2009, ruled a homicide in August 2009, continues to be big news in the media. His memorial had an enormous audience and Nielsen estimated there were about 31.1 million people in the United States who watched it on July 7, 2009.

Jackson's newly released song, This Is It, will play at the close of the movie, which will feature Jackson's career highlights and last rehearsals. Also on the first disc of the new album will be some of Jackson's classics, biggest hits such as "Billie Jean," "Smooth Criminal," "Human Nature," and "Thriller" arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film.

Disc two offers fans a a rare chance to hear the early demo versions of classics "She's Out Of My Life," "Wanna Be Startin'," "Somethin'," and "Beat It." This disc also features a recently discovered spoken word poem from Michael Jackson entitled "Planet Earth."

The R&B track, This Is It, features vocal backup by Jackson's brothers and the lyrics "This is it, here I stand/I'm the light of the world, I feel grand." A classic vinyl version of the album will be available as of Nov. 10, according to Jackson's Web site.

Michael Jackson's This Is It album also includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal. The much anticipated movie, Michael Jackson's This Is It, will offer a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer. The film is drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for sold-out concerts that would have taken place in London's O2 Arena.
