Jon and Kate Gosselin are trying to work out their differences in their divorce with a court-appointed arbitrator. Their lawyers will meet today with the arbitrator to see what can be resolved, if anything, in this messy divorce.
The Gosselins public lives have become even more public in light of the divorce. Their children are in the limelight with their show on TLC, Jon and Kate Plus 8. Now the accusations and drama are hitting the airwaves. Last week Kate was on the TODAY Show weeping about her soon to be ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, taking more than 200K from their bank account.
Kate is seeking child and spousal support and has accused Jon of taking $230,000 from the family account. Jon denies the withdrawals were inappropriate and wants Kate to account for more than $100,000 she withdrew.
The reality show stars could resolve the financial dispute privately and avoid a hearing before a Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, judge. Kate's attorney, Mark Momjian, had requested the emergency hearing, seeking to force Jon to return the money.
The estranged relations between the couple heat up and then seem to cool down, depending on which of the two parents appear on national television. There are two sides to every story and when it comes to reality television, who really knows what is the truth.
Reportedly, Jon spent a quiet weekend at their Pennsylvania, home, carving pumpkins with the kids and hanging with his pal, Michael Lohan, father of Lindsay Lohan. Jon Gosselin appears to like friends who have raised responsible children, like Lindsay Lohan.
The results of today's arbitration in court over the disputed finances claimed by both Jon and Kate Gosselin may help keep things a little more peaceful. If not, it's off to court for the reality show couple for more battling. Seems to fit right in with the theme of reality television.
