Disney Princess Inspired Engagement Rings Unveiled

Disney Princess Inspired Rings

Kirstie Kelly first designed wedding gowns inspired by Walt Disney princesses and now she has expanded her line to include diamond engagement rings. Her Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouawad line of Disney inspired engagement rings debuted Tuesday at the Intercontinental Barclay Hotel in New York as part of Bridal Fashion Week in New York. There are six engagement rings and matching wedding bands in the new Disney by Mouawad collection and they will be available in the spring 2010.

Each engagement ring and its matching band were designed in the spirit of a one of six Walt Disney princesses. The collection includes sparkling diamond engagement rings inspired by classic princesses Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. In addition there are three more rings based on modern-day Disney heroines Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Just like there is a story behind each Disney princess, each ring's creation has its own story as well. For example, the ring that was designed based on Belle from 1991's Beauty and the Beast, features a rose-cut diamond, a play on the enchanted rose that played an important role in the film. It can also be used to hold diamonds of other cuts.

The princess-cut Sleeping Beauty, which retails for $5,460, is super elegant, while the Cinderella ring, for $4,380, has a refined, classy feel with its large central diamond and two smaller, sparkling baguettes.

Disney has cornered the market on dream weddings with it's princess inspired engagement rings, bridal gowns and even Disney's own resort based Fairytale weddings.
