New York City will be buzzing with Yankees fans Friday morning when the winners of the World Series parade through the streets of NYC to honor New York Yankees, who won their 27th World Series title on Wednesday night.

The parade route through NYC will allow fans to get a glimpse of the New York Yankees, World Series 2009 winners. The ticker-tape parade will begin on Broadway at Battery Place at 11 a.m. and continue uptown along the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street.

The Canyon of Heroes parade route typically runs along Broadway from Bowling Green to City Hall Park. The official 2009 Yankees Parade route should be released soon.

A ceremony will be held at City Hall Plaza after the parade is finished. Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the Keys to the City. There is very limited space on City Hall plaza for the ceremony itself. The city will make a limited number of tickets available to the public.

Mayor Bloomberg issued a congratulatory statement to the World Series champions, The New York Yankees:

"Congratulations to the Yankees for bringing the world championship back home to New York City, where it belongs. The Yankees have thrilled the city all year long with their come-from-behind victories and never-say-die attitude, and they did it again in the World Series. What's sweeter than a World Series won at home? The only thing that comes close is a ticker-tape parade up the Canyon of Heroes, and that's exactly what New Yorkers will get on Friday."

The New York Yankees' last parade through New York was in 2000 after the Bronx Bombers beat the New York Mets in five games for their 26th World Series title.

If you're not in NYC and still want to view the parade, many local and national television stations will air the World Series victory parade so you can see the New York Yankees celebrate their win. Online MyFoxNY.com will have a live stream of the celebration for anyone who is not near a TV or in NYC.
