The shooting occurred this morning at the Gateway Center at 1000 Legion Place in Orlando, Florida. Officers are armed with assault rifles and a chopper is overhead as they look for the suspect, Jason Rodriguez, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
Firefighters were called to Gateway Center at 1000 Legion Place around 11:30 a.m. The building is near Lake Ivanhoe. Many employees of Reynolds, Smith and Hills, an architecture firm, said they barricaded themselves inside their offices during the incident.
Jason Rodriguez, 40, was identified by authorities with the Orlando Police Department as a suspect in the shooting. It has been reported that he could possibly be driving a silver 2002 Nissan X-Terra vehicle with Florida tag D11-9UX. Witnesses have told several news sources that Rodriguez has not worked in the building for at least a year.
The Orlando police have stressed that the gunman is armed and extremely dangerous.
Law enforcement from both Orlando's police force and the Orange county sheriffs deputies have blocked roads near the Orlando Chamber of Commerce and the Radisson hotel. Nearby Edgewater High School, Lake Highland Preparatory School, Princeton Elementary and Bishop Moore High School were locked down as the search for the gunman continued.

The gunman may still be in the 16-story Legion Place Gateway Center, a high-rise office complex next to the Sheraton Hotel. The twin-tower structure includes several law offices, a restaurant and a TV sports network headquarters.
According to a report on ABC, about 20 people were led out of the building, distraught and crying. Others are still barricaded in the office building.
