Free WiFi from Google in 47 US Airports

Google is giving out a great holiday gift for travelers this season: free WiFi at 47 airports across the United States. In addition, Google will provide free WiFi on every flight operated by Virgin America during the busy holiday travel season.

Free WiFi from Google started on November 11 and will run through January 15, 2010. Getting delayed for hours in an airport with no internet connection -- or a costly one -- is a major inconvenience to those who can't be without the social media connections. Google will bring some holiday cheer and make that layover a bit easier with their offer of free WiFi.

“We know that this is a very hectic travel season for people, and we hope that free Wi-Fi will make both travelling and connecting with friends and family a little bit easier,” stated Marissa Mayer, vice president of Search Products and User Experience at California-based Google.

Some of the 47 airports that will have free WiFi courtesy of Google include: Las Vegas, San Jose, Boston, Baltimore, Burbank, Houston, Indianapolis, Seattle, Miami, Orlando, and St. Louis.

So, grab your laptop and your plane tickets and thousands of other holiday travelers who will enjoy free WiFi service from Google as a great holiday gift.
