The night started out with a technical glitch that forced Tom Bergeron to unexpectedly go to a commercial.
The grand finale of Dancing with the Stars Season 9 was expected to receive high ratings. The results show that last week attracted an audience of 16.2 million and the finale ratings are expected to be much higher.
The three finalists had to compete once more on Tuesday for a final ranking and points from the judges. The season nine winner receives the highest point total after Monday's judges' scores are added to viewers' votes and Tuesday's judges' points. Viewers' votes account for half the point total.
The perfomances of the final three contestants on the Tuesday night finale began with Kelly. She performed amazingly well and the crowd loved her. Mya's performance was called "fantastic" by Len but wasn't her best effort. The judges heaped on the praise for Donny's last dance but it surely didn't seem like the winning dance --but that turned out quite differently now that Donny has the Mirror Ball trophy to show off!

Not everyone was thrilled with the show this season, but there is one person who is: The Dancing with the Stars Season 9 Winner Donny Osmond. He looked incredibly surprised to win and rushed off stage to grab his sister, Marie Osmond, to share in the glory with him.
