Several photos of the couple posing with Vice President Joe Biden and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel show that getting up close to Washington's big names is not that hard. In fact, it seems that if you pass a weapons check, you don't even.
The Secret Service is looking into its own security procedures after the Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, slipped into Tuesday night's state dinner at the White House without being on the guest list.
Apparently Tareq and Michaele Salahi gained access to the South Lawn tent where the state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was given, but there is no photo of the couple seated for the festive dinner. It is likely that they arrived after dinner was served.
Photos of Tareq and Michaele Salahi with numerous political figures and notables were posted to their joint Facebook page. Michaele, a former Redskins cheerleader, is one of the finalists for the upcoming Bravo cable show, Housewives of DC. The dinner crashers posed with Vice President Biden,Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Katie Couric and more. They happily posted these photos on Facebook.
Not paying attention to details, the Salahis improperly identified Rahm Emanuel as "Ron" in the Facebook photos.
Bravo announced in May that their "Real Housewives" program is "scouting the D.C. area to identify...women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings and fund-raisers in Washington society."
Certainly if the Salahi's have the "pulse" on Washington society, they need to start learning the proper names of the political notables.
The uninvited guests could face a trespassing charge unless someone from inside the White House staff slipped them in. A spokesman in a Washington Post article stated that a Secret Service checkpoint failed to "follow proper procedure to ensure these two individuals were on the invited guest list."
