Photos of Tareq and Michaele Salahi with numerous political figures and notables were posted to their joint Facebook page.
Michaele, a former Redskins cheerleader, is one of the finalists for the upcoming Bravo cable show, Housewives of DC. The dinner crashers posed with Vice President Biden,Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Katie Couric and even President Obama.
The White House confirmed today that the couple that crashed Tuesday's state dinner did meet with the President and First Lady in the receiving line. Despite the claims of their attorney, White House officials say Tareq and Michaele Salahi did not have an invitation to attend the event.
In a statement, the Secret Service took full responsibility for the breach of security. Director Mark Sullivan said the Service is "deeply concerned and embarassed" by the incident. Though Tareq and Michaele Salahi got into the event without an invitation, they did go through the magnetometers and were not a threat security-wise.
Threat or no threat, they got into the White House. That should not be an easy feat for anyone, but apparently it was.
If Larry King does interview Tareq and Michaele Salahi on his show Monday night, the questions should be interesting. Even more interesting would be to interview a few members of the Secret Service who were on duty at the state dinner Tuesday night.
With national security of major importance, how can two people basically stroll into the White House without being on the guest list? Perhaps they were carrying a casserole or a gift so they looked like they fit in. A more reasonable answer would be that the Secret Service quite obviously screwed up.
Larry King Live airs on CNN at 9pm ET. Right now, King has Jesse Ventura listed as his guest, but perhaps Tareq and Michaele Salahi are crashing the show. It seems to be how they make their arrival lately.
