A film clip released on Reuters shows Marilyn Monroe supposedly smoking pot. The silent, color film taken at a private home and was recently purchased by collector Keya Morgan for $275,000 from the person who took the film. Reuters report noted that this person has asked to remain anonymous.
Reuters was given special permission to use the film in shortened form. There is a still image that is posted as well as a short clip of the film showing Marilyn Monroe relaxed and happy passing a 'cigarette' and taking a puff.
The person who made the film confirmed that the cigarette contained marijuana, saying: "I got it (the pot). It was mine. It was just passed around."
Keya Morgan, who purchased the film, Morgan, is a collector of historical photos, manuscripts, autographs and documents, He is also working on a documentary on the death of Monroe, who died in August of 1962.
