Music celebrity Usher returned to his birth state, Tennessee, earlier this fall to give one deserving family a new home. Sunday, that experience will be televised on ABC’s ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. This episode will also feature Selena Gomez, star of Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place".
According to ABC, Usher and the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team rebuilt single mother, Trina Scott’s home. Scott, a mother of three, has been raising her three daughters as a single mother since her Clarksville, TN police officer husband was tragically killed in a car crash. Trina has spent more than $20,000 on the mounting repairs to her small home, but the structural problems caused by termites and water damage remains.
Usher was on hand to help with the build, but mostly to recognize and support the family’s dedication to giving back. Usher’s New Look Foundation awarded the Scott family $25,000 to continue their legacy of service and give back to the community in an even bigger way. Usher’s New Look has been working for the past 10 years to support young people to use their talents and creativity to become corporate and community leaders.
In addition to Usher, teen star Selena Gomez will also appear on Sunday's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". The star of Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place will be on hand to meet the Scott family. The family's daughters are big fans of Selena Gomez.
Recently interviewed by TV Guide about her appearance on the show, Selena said, "The little girls in this episode were big fans of the show. They didn't know where they were going and they just pulled up [to the Wizards set] and were completely surprised. We gave them a huge tour of the set. It was awesome."
