Christmas at the White House with Oprah Winfrey December 13

"Christmas at the White House" will air Sunday, December 13, at 10 p.m. on ABC. Oprah Winfrey, who has never endorsed a presidential candidate before, was a strong supporter of Obama during his presidential campaign. She will tour the White House, decorated with 27 Christmas trees and viewers will learn that the first family has a stocking for their dog, Bo.

Oprah Winfrey keeps it light-hearted in the Christmas at the White House special, revealing the favorite childhood toys of President and Mrs. Obama. Excerpts from the special were released by Harpo Productions.

“It was a doll house,” the first lady recalls, “and it was a metal doll house with plastic furniture, but it was and I remember I really didn’t know how to set up a house so I had all the furniture lined up along the walls as opposed to nestled around the fireplace, but I loved that little doll house.”

“Did you have an Easy Bake Oven?” Winfrey wants to know.

“Oh, I did have an Easy Bake Oven,” the first lady recalls, “but you know once you run out of the mix it’s like you’re done with it.”

“You couldn’t get more mix?” the president asks.

The one hour-long special marks the first time Oprah has interviewed Obama since he took office. The special will also give a behind-the-scenes preparations as the White House gets ready for the holiday season.
