Obama Christmas: What are the gifts and where are they going

President Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle, face another first. It's their first Christmas at the White House and it's a white one after last weekend's storm left plenty of snow on the ground. Where are they going for Christmas and what gifts are the first couple exchanging? The rumor is that President Obama just wants hugs for Christmas. That should be an easy order for daughters Sasha and Malia.

The Obama daughters' wish-lists have not been made public, President Obama told the Tom Joyner Morning Show that Malia and Sasha don't want much, but like iPods, video games and books. Sounds like a fairly normal like that Santa will be able to deliver on.

The first couple apparently made a rule to not exchange Christmas gifts many years ago but there is rumor that Michelle Obama is making sure the president is getting "sports stuff" under the tree.

The president recently reported that his vacation is on hold until the health care vote in the Senate is put to rest. The family hopes to spend at least some time in Obama's native Hawaii. Nothing has been confirmed yet as to when the first family is leaving or whether Santa will be landing at the White House and not the tropics for the family Christmas.

The first lady told Oprah Winfrey about her family's plans: "You know, we're going to spend the holidays in Hawaii as we always do and with probably the same friends and family that we always see, and the girls look forward to that."

The property in Hawaii that the Obama family hopes to get to this holiday season is at the base of the Koolau mountains with Kailua Beach out back. The five-bedroom home is about a half-hour drive from Honolulu. Sounds like a gift in itself.
