Tiger Woods has been missing from the public eye since November and seems to be making a point of staying away from the media. There have been rumors as to where Tiger is and the most recent is that he is in the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Woods is apparently being treated for sex addiction after his much publicized affairs and encounters with a wide variety of women.
RadarOnline was the first to break the news of Tiger Woods checking into the Hattiesburg behavioral health center. Reports have indicated that a police car is now parked outside of the entrance of the center, indicating that there is a possibility that they are trying to protect Woods from the media.
Woods has been linked to over 14 different women including waitresses, prostitutes and lingerie models. The speculation that the pro-golfer has a sexual addiction is fairly obvious and if he has indeed been admitted to the Hattiesburg for sexual addiction then perhaps he is trying to make an effort to finally get help.
If Tiger Woods is in the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services, he is likely to be in the "Gentle Paths" program. The program is described on the Pine Grove site as "a program for those suffering from sexual addiction, relationship addiction and sexual anorexia."
There are two steps to the program: A Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment lasts approximately one to two days. This is followed by a Residential Treatment Program. The average length of stay is 6 weeks.
Will a program like this cure Tiger Woods of his sexual addiction and save his marriage? That's a very complex assumption. Hopefully this is the first step in putting Woods back on the golf course and, at the very least, in a better situation with his wife and family.
