Pants on the Ground Shirts big item on eBay

If you're interested in stimulating the economy and really have to have a "Pants on the Ground" shirt, head over to eBay. There are a handful of people who are trying to make a fast dollar by selling shirts based on 62-year-old General Larry Platt's "Pants on the Ground" song. Platt sang his song at the season 9 American Idol auditions last week and it immediately went viral on YouTube.

It didn't take long for people to try to cash in on the "Pants on the Ground" song and posting shirts for sale on eBay is surely not going to make anyone a millionaire, but it will certainly bring in some extra cash.

In what seems like a great publicity stunt for American Idol, it's not known if Larry Platt is seeing any profits from all of the commotion about his hit song. The internet is buzzing with talk about the song a week after it happened and there is no word that Platt has received any compensation from Idol or any of the eBay sellers who are bringing in money for the sale of Pants on the Ground shirts.

Checking the "completed listings" on eBay today, there are less than 20 shirts that have sold but many still up for auction. The highest sale for a Pants on the Ground shirt has been $29.99 and the lowest, $10.00.

If you don't want a shirt, you can buy buttons, mousepads and other items that have the now famous song title on them. May not be a collector's item, but it's hot now and that's what people seem to like.

General Larry Platt is civil rights activist in Atlanta. He's given his time to his community over many years and perhaps some of the profits can go to help charities that he chooses.
