Earlier in January, 62-year-old General Larry Platt upstaged all of the "real" singers at the Atlanta auditions for the Season 9 show of American Idol. His "Pants on the Ground" song immediately made it onto YouTube and became an instant hit.

General Larry will be singing his viral hit song before the Grammy Awards show, although his rep told Access Hollywood that there are no plans for the singer to attend the 2010 Grammy Awards ceremony.

While American Idol may be getting all the attention for showcasing Larry Platt and his Pants on the Ground song, an different rendition of the song seems to have been around for awhile.

The Green Brothers told FOX 2 News about their 1996 recording Back Pockets on the Floor. The brothers say their song has the same intent, idea and message of the General Larry Platt's Pants version. Gerald Green are fine with song, but want the world to hear and see their version.
