Federer Crying After US Open, Good Public Support

After a dramatic upset at the US Open 2009 Men's Final, Roger Federer tearfully accepted the 2009 US Open runner-up trophy. There was an outcry of public support for Federer, who lost the match 3-6, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 to 20 year old underdog Juan Martin Del Potro. Rafael Nadal, who was defeated by Del Potro in a previous match, applauded Federer.

Federer had to stop talking during his speech and fought back tears. He was given a five minute break to compose himself. The crowd cheered him on and the positive feedback made for a good end to a stressful game.
