With government approval of its newly designed JANSH2N2222A, Microsemi can now provide devices passing radiation exposure levels up to 1Meg (1000K) RAD (Si). The following devices and radiation levels are now available:
RAD SOFT: Commercial applications
JANSM (3K RAD)
JANSD (10K RAD)
RAD TOLERANT: Satellite applications
JANSR (100K RAD)
RAD HARD: Military applications
JANSH (1000K RAD)
Both the 2N2221A & 2N2222A are now qualified to these radiation levels per MIL-PRF-19500/255 in the traditional through-hole package configurations as well as surface mount (UA, & UB) package versions. Microsemi has developed its own certified radiation testing capability in conjunction with the University of Massachusetts (Lowell).
"We are pleased with the receipt of our first RAD-Level Qualification," said Tom Kachel, Vice President and General Manager of Microsemi's Lawrence Massachusetts division. "Our Enhanced Radiation Tolerance design along with our newly developed testing capabilities should appeal to our customers in the aerospace market."
In addition to the 2N2221A and the 2N2222A, Microsemi is nearing completion on the following small signal transistor radiation tolerant designs:
2N2369A, 2N2484, 2N2907A, 2N2920, 2N3439, 2N3501, 2N3700 - Microsemi.
