The gory hit movie Zombieland, took top billing with a killer $25M for its opening weekend at the box office. Sony Pictures' Zombieland, starring Woody Harrelson and Jessie Eisenberg, opened October 2nd in North American theaters.

As the weekend heated up with Zombieland poised for a record weekend at the box office, we reported 'Zombieland: Woody Harrelson Obsessed with Twinkies and Zombies' on opening day, Friday, October 2nd. Tallahassee (Harrelson) loves his Twinkies!

As the zombie frenzy continued on Saturday, we noticed 'Zombieland Box Office Hit is Twitter's Hot Trending Topic'. And it was, with a message blaring, "Twitter is over capacity." What? How can Twitter be on overload? Did the zombie comedy, or "zomcom" as the blogosphere is now calling it, have anything to do with that? After all, Zombieland has developed somewhat of a cult following among Zombieland Tweeters.

Apparently, this was also a huge weekend for Woodys! As Zombieland was making a killing in the box office, Woody Harrelson was up against Disney-Pixar's animated Toy Story 2 in 3-D, starring none other than the beloved pair, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Sandwiched between the two Woodys, was Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, also by Sony Pictures.

Zombieland had some killer help in the marketing department which didn't hurt a bit. Not only did the awesome Zombieland trailer, shown weeks before the opening, get moviegoers revved up for some ghoulish scares, but was it a calculated surprise that Woody Harrelson happened to be the first guest in the hot seat after David Letterman spilled the beans of his secret Sex-ploit-ations? I mean really, who could follow a story like that? I guess it just ghost to show you, it's not who you know, but where you are when there's a juicy scandal about to rip.
