Not surpisingly, two of Twitter's top trending topics today are Condé Nast and Gourmet. Twitter is going ballistic with the awful news. The Tweets this morning are of shock, awe, disbelief, and surprisingly, anger.

Foodies worldwide woke up to find all the major news sources reporting, 'Gourmet Magazine to Close says Condé Nast'. And although you can get the "official" news from trusted sources like NY Times, Chicago Tribune, LA Times and the Associated Press, there's nothing quite like honest-to-goodness real-time news from Twitter.

Twitter is great for quick, RAW news. With any hot breaking news story that makes Twitter's popular topics, Tweeters' are genuine, sometimes over-the-top and blatantly honest. What you see is what you get from Twitter. They'll bare their hearts as they Tweet. As reported in a previous article, 'Zombieland Box Office Hit is Twitter's Hot Trending Topic,' it's evident that Twitter rules the trends.
